Fundraising Options

All tuition payments may be met by fundraising. Fundraising events are held throughout the season to give you other ways to pay your membership dues. Participation is not required.

At TYS we believe that no qualified musician should be deprived of membership due to financial need. A limited number of partial membership fee scholarships are available. If you have a financial need and are interested in applying for a scholarship, please contact the TYS office.

  • Letter Writing Campaign

In time for the October 31st tuition payment, TYS will provide you with a letter asking for sponsorships that you can customize, and mail or e-mail to family and friends. We will keep you posted about your donors and donations. Prizes will be awarded for largest contribution totals and most contributors in both the Symphony Orchestra and the Concert Orchestra. All donations you receive from this campaign, up to $400, will count towards your tuition!

Note: This campaign runs from August 26nd through October 19th, 2016.

  • Program Book Ads

Does a friend or family member own or work for a business that might want to advertise in the TYS program book? Do you want to honor a musician, teacher, or music lover with an ad? Your ad would run in each of the program books distributed before our three regular concerts. Depending on ad editing needed, 90—100% of the money received for ad sales is contributed directly to your musician’s tuition.

Note: This campaign runs from September 15th through November 4th, 2016.

  • MidFirst Bank Fundraising

Bring your coins to the November concert, step up to the MidFirst Bank van, drop your coins in the coin counter, and MidFirst matches every contribution! If you just have bills, we will have change available. Your donation goes towards your tuition; the matching donation goes towards TYS operating expenses.

Note: This campaign runs only the night of the November concert.

  • Play-A-Thon Fundraiser

In the spring, members of both orchestras play concerts all afternoon at the annual Play-A-Thon at Woodland Hills Mall. In the months leading up to this event, musicians can request donations from sponsors whose names will be posted at the event. All donations musicians receive from sponsors, up to $400, will count towards your tuition!

Note: This campaign runs from January 24th through March 3th, 2017.

  • Sponsorships

Do you have a friend or music lover in the family that wants to contribute to your tuition? They are welcome to sponsor you by making tuition payments on your behalf.

Note: This campaign runs from June 1st, 2016 through March 7th, 2017.
